We at Five S Plus Cattle Company would like to take this opportunity to let you know a little about who we are, where we came from, and where we are heading. Five S Plus is a family-owned business. The owners are Aaron & Erin Slayter along with Will & Shelly Travis. Although we have just begun our ranching and farming operations, we have operated a family-owned business since 1979. The Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to enter into this line of business, and we intend to stay in it as long as He wants us to.

Our operation is located on 7,000 acres in both Grant Parish and Rapides Parish and is bordered by the Red River and Kateland Gin Road. We have approximately 3,000 acres of this land used strictly for our cattle operation. Holden Vallee is our Vice President/ Ranch and Farm Manager, and he does a great job. We believe his hard work and leadership will help Five S Plus achieve its long-term goals and vision. We are truly excited to have him as a representative of our family.

Our long-term plans are to have a commercial beef and club calf operation with over 800 head of cows. Over the last few years, we have been adding quality cows and bulls from highly respected cattle ranches such as Sitz Ranch, 3C Christensen Ranch, and DeJong Ranch to our existing herd. We have purchased the types of herd bulls that we think will work best with our cows to put top-notch calves on the ground.

I want to take this opportunity to give thanks for the blessings God has poured into my life and the lives of my family. God has been so merciful to me and spared my life through so many years of me turning my back on Him and making so many mistakes with my life. I am so thankful to God for opening my eyes to His truths.

Because He paid it all for me, I owe it all to Him. I always want to take the opportunity to give God all the credit and glory He deserves. In 2nd Peter 3:9, the Lord says, “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish (eternal separation from God), but everyone to come to repentance.”We have such a loving and caring God who desires a personal relationship with each one of us. God gives us a free will that He will never take away.

God tells us, “He has set before us life and death, blessings and curses. Now, choose life.” Making the choice to give control of our lives to Jesus is the only way to have peace, joy and life. It is not about religion. It is about a relationship with the man who gave his life, so we could have the free gift of Salvation.
